World trade truly grim this weekend

The GI's Alex Singleton writes in today's issue of The Business newspaper that:

Peter Mandelson, the European trade commissioner, has been exposed as hopelessly out of his depth and little more than a mouthpiece for French farmers. His and Brussels's failure to agree to open Europe's borders is a disastrous setback for free trade and a disappointing end to 2005... The omens for world trade are truly grim this weekend.
